Gaia Villages - early visions

article: Gaia Villages - early visions

Gaia Village is a demonstration center for appropriate lifestyle and technology, welcoming visitors from all over the world. It is a place where inventors and teachers can meet with students to explore the possibilities available to create a sustainable world. Every aspect of lifestyle will be represented at Gaia Village, from Earth skills, psychology and medicine to government and economics. It will be a World Game site, demonstrating how R. Buckminster Fuller’s World Game players can utilize resources to create a sustainable global society. Gaia Village will be utilized by students participating in, but not limited to, Gaia University; which offers accredited degree programs for real-world action in self and planetary transformation.

Regenerative design and biomimicry will be emphasized. As we build each Gaia village, video archives will be placed on the website for the entire planet to learn from our model. Gaia Villages is a united global project.  Our website will stream educational videos on sustainable living. It will list villages all over the world and projects available to be taught in the villages. This will allow students to gain accreditation for sustainable skills while having a balance communal lifestyle. It will also assist people who own land to have assistance developing it, basically utilizing the energy and enthusiasm of the youth to regenerate the farms and wild land.

Some of the projects that will be demonstrated at Gaia Village are:

Agriculture: French intensive; bio-dynamic; permaculture; hydroponics; mushrooms for food and medicine; textiles; algae for food and biofuels; other biofuel crops; animal husbandry and bee keeping.

Architecture: green building; Nomadic Shelters; Vaastu architecture; solar passive heating and cooling; and biosphere complete environments.

Government and economics: new ideas for sustainable societies.

Guilds: textile weaving and dying; basket weaving; stone carving and masonry; carpentry; jewelry smith; food preparation and storage.

Medicines: herbology; massage; aromatherapy; homeopathy; sound/light healing and bio resonance.

Restoration projects: river; forest; and mycological restoration.

Technology: wind, solar and hydro power; electric vehicles; non offensive communication systems and zero point energy.

Water: water charging; hydro power; water catchments and waste water treatment.

Gaia Village will utilize New Energy Movement and the BFI Challenge inventors. New energy movement is an organization of over 100 inventors with inventions that demonstrate clean energy technology. BFI challenge also has hundreds of inventors that compete for “the sustainable project that will most likely save the world” award.

A Gaia Village website is being created that will weave Gaia Village locations with projects and students. A rotating globe will allow visitor to locate Gaia Village sites around the globe, allowing projects to find demonstration sites; students to find projects; and land owners to have the opportunity to develop their land to become a sustainable resource.

The website will include project descriptions; resumes of project participants and videos of classes, workshops and demonstrations.
