Existence will launch on July 4th - the first people to sign up will be able to choose their own roles and help coordinate the direction of the adventure.  The idea is to model a community on-line and then use the skill development to apply to real life.  This is a new concept, so the first effort should give us some key lessons, well before many people get to survival mode.  This is an open source site - take it and duplicate the effort as you will.
