A game is only as good as its scoring system. The players will define their own attributes in specific categories - similar to other role playing games. There will be virtual activities and events to take part in that have analogous events in Southern Oregon and Northern California.
We are attempting to rate relative behaviors in a context that lets people know where they stand - as long as the data gets reported for each event. The role of scribe is designed to keep track of event measures, like how many people were there and what was accomplished at the event. Players may submit data for any event attended, with the values being intrepreted through a complex mathematical matrix.
Cooperatives have been around for about 150 years, ever since the industrial revolution began to urbanize the western world. Craftspeople set up common warehouses to compete more...
Existence: Chapter EighteenLast Updated on 2011-11-07 09:19:12Scribe Net
Each scribe is expected to record information about the workshop event and turn in the results to the community data bank. The data bank will then assign value to the participants based on time, level and work demonstrated. The scribe should be a participant at the event or can be assigned to attend via the scribe network. The importance is getting the information back to Existence so that the proper values can be assigned to the participants.
Scribes can build their own forms to report data from each event as information. The context of the work should be evaluated to determine whether the event was an effective use of time. Scribe should provide an honest assessment. The idea is to give people credit for the demonstration of... More »

Parameters– There are areas that we know well and other areas that we wish to know better. Each of us has individual expertise that can be applied to aspects of other people’s projects that would enhance the product provided by the group effort. By defining themes and skills and how they applies, then teaching to others through the workshops; we can combine efforts to develop superior mechanisms of making our creative desires happen. As we increase the skill level within the group, we increase our stewardship effectiveness and enhance the loving relationship with Gaia in our natural community.
Redile– Research Directed Learning is a method of creating skill sets that will assist us on our pathway of our future. By looking at the direct collection and application of knowledge, we attune our next steps toward the vision that we wish to... More »
Existence: Chapter SixteenLast Updated on 2011-11-04 08:26:19Workshop Outline – General Themes
Each workshop is focused around a specific project that needs to be developed for the harmonic community. This involves developing the means to build a model community network and filming the presentations and discussions to provide transcripts of project development for future use. This can be present as broadcasts through EQ-TV, You Tube or another net format. The idea that each community is materially self-sufficient in the absence of travel, yet still linked by Internet communication is an assumption, which may need to be verified by actual circumstance. If we take this as the initial scenario rather than the worst-case scenario of no Internet, it should be sufficient for planning a seminar... More »

Let’s explore the composting toilet concept to develop the application. For manure handling and waste treatment, we would like to minimize the people work in the process of developing the economic value of soil restoration with nutrient production. One set of designs is found in The Humanure Handbook 2e by Joseph Jenkins (1999). Our plan is to take the basic features of construction and apply them to a local demonstration project at a site when the toilet will be used for festivals.
The composting toilet operates based on the ability of microbes to break down biopolymers. This comes with the release thermal energy. The initial mix of components would be urine, manure and a masking agent, straw or clay and another component to absorb moisture and odor. Wood chips and sawdust work well, but any organic matter may play this role.
The design will... More »
Existence: Chapter ThirteenLast Updated on 2011-10-26 10:00:32Event Metrix - Measurement
The evaluation of individual knowledge has been a bane for current school systems. The use of standardized tests has discouraged learning by having the teacher teach to the specific material on the test. Between undercurrents of revisionist history along with a federal agency bureaucratic monopoly on content - we have a system that trains workers but discourages thought.
The knowledge base rarely moves beyond the words spoken to students in a static learning environment, with everyone sitting behind a small square block of wood. As long as one can sponge up the information and regurgitate it back on a standardized form, the current school system grants the capacity of a degree. Students learn to pack their brains with trivial information and dump it... More »
