What is Terra Viva?
2011 TerraViva! SEDAC Viewer has been updated with a wide range of new SEDAC data. This map viewer and standalone software application (Microsoft Windows-based) uses a powerful data-viewing engine and tools to enable the visualization and integration of hundreds of socioeconomic and environmental variables and layers, including a range of satellite-based data. TerraViva! is of primary interest to researchers and analysts working in a variety of areas, from environmental and ecological sciences to the social and health sciences.

I think Mark and I may have inadvertently caused some confusion about how to get the EdGCM software and then use your license key, so I'd like to try to clarify things.
- The EdGCM software installer is available for download from the EdGCM web site (http://edgcm.columbia.edu/download-edgcm/). To streamline the process a little, here are the direct links to the downloads, which we normally distribute only via email. (If you decide to have your students download the software for themselves, please send them to the web site rather than giving them the direct links below - we have no other way at present of tracking downloads.) You MUST cut and paste the URL that's shown into your browser's address bar, and then delete the space before 'exe' or 'dmg' before you hit the return key to start the download.
