The first question goes to the heart of the matter on how the greenhouse effect actually works. This is the knowledge piece that most people dont understand, but the text does a good job of explaining it and through the discussion the students seemed to grasp it. It did take the discussion though. This science is not material that is covered repeatedly or in depth for most common education levels. The second question shows the difference between global climate change and regional climate change. Global change impacts the ocean, but a changed ocean has its own consequences then as well. This brings the level of change back to something more personally relevant, but was harder for people to grasp since most materials talk about the global change. There is a definite gap in regional or local impacts.
