Normally, we're obsessed with the number 350 -- the safe upper limit of CO2 in the atmosphere measured in parts per million.

Right now, we're focused on 35,000.

35,000 is the number of invitations to the UN Climate Meetings we want to send Senators Obama and McCain before the Election on November 4. We're almost at 30,000 invites now, and if you use our new tool to pass the word along to just 5 friends, we could blow past the 35,000 mark.  You can write your own e-mail too--just be sure to tell them to visit

I know many of you are pretty focused on the upcoming U.S. Election right now, and with good reason.  But, since 350.org is a non-partisan group, we're not legally allowed to try to influence the outcome of the election. What we can do is work to hold whoever is elected accountable.

That work will take a global movement -- and we need to build it quickly. There are only 12 days left until the U.S. Presidential election. And only 39 days until the UN Climate Meetings begin.
