Summary:

The symposium will describe the current state of knowledge in global ocean observations and their links to ocean science and, as appropriate, with ocean policy.  The key message is the global oceans are undergoing unprecedented changes.  The symposium will discuss the important challenge to sustain global high accuracy, well-calibrated observations with sufficient temporal and spatial resolutions for regional applications.
