NCSE's National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment is built on the idea that stakeholder-informed science is a powerful tool for building consensus necessary to solve complex environmental problems. Each year, NCSE convenes a topical conference that brings together hundreds of scientific, educational, business, civil society, and government leaders. NCSE produces and disseminates a detailed report of the recommendations developed collaboratively by conference participants. NCSE provides briefings to Congress and other institutions and individuals capable of implementing the proposals. John H. Despite this, the fields of health science and practice and environmental science and practice have grown increasingly apart over the past half-century. The report presents a series of prescriptions for the difficult but necessary task of integration of environmental and health perspectives.
